Welcome to my website! Thank you for your interest in my candidacy. A democracy works best with an informed and involved electorate. I appreciate very much that by inquiring about my candidacy, you are doing your homework and contributing to a stronger democracy. If you are already a supporter, mahalo for your support—my leadership would not be possible without people like you. Inside this website, you will find information about me—who I am and what I stand for, what I have accomplished in my almost 18 years of public service and what I still want to do. In learning about me, you will also gain some perspective about the recent history of Kaua‘i. I’ve served in public office for 18 years, but I’ve been involved in Kaua‘i politics, particularly land use issues, for over 32 years. Inside this website you will also find links related to possible innovative solutions to Kaua‘i’s current problems. The issues facing our island community are complex, and we need to learn all we can about how other places have dealt with similar problems. You will also find information about my campaign schedule and how you can help. Like you, I love Kaua‘i. It is our home—a gem in the middle of the Pacific Ocean—deserving of care (mālama), good planning, participation and celebration.
